Keeping up Traditions

In keeping our family tradition, today was the day we went to the Hallm&rk store so the children could pick out their yearly ornaments. The thing that I love about doing this tradition, is that when they are all grown up and have their own families, I'm going to give them all of these ornaments that reflect their loves each year.

This year Ryleigh was over the moon when she saw that they had a Barbie Diamond Castle girl, and Austin got Indiana Jones. He was NOT happy that Indiana Jones didn't make any sounds, but this has definitely been the year of Henry Jones in our house, so it's fitting....

On our way back to the car, the jolly elf was in his little house and Ryleigh ran right up to him...the last picture pretty much sums up her love for the big red guy. Austin was shocked that Santa didn't say he had been bad this year... hmmmm

I love this tradition you have. I have a similar one, where every Christmas when I make an ornament, I make at least two extras. I have a shoebox for each girl and someday when they leave home, I'll have a shoebox of homemade ornaments I've made or they've made. :)
