When being a mom sucks.....

When your children have to get 8 shots, and a finger stick for blood test done all at the same time. 5 for Ryleigh 3 + stick for Austin.

Poor guys.

Austin was terrified, because he had worked himself all up. After they did the finger stick, which I had to straddle him to hold him down, and I kept telling him to use the force (which didn't work at all) and he was actually yelling "Waaaah Waaaaah" like a crying baby, he thought it was done. He thought that was the "shots" we were talking about..... Poor guy. Oh well, it's over now, and he was super brave so he got about 30 sticker and an airplane glider from the nurses. He got candy of his choice from me, and Skittles won out over M&M's (is he my son???).

Next, Ryleigh had to get 5 shots. Even though she's 16 months old, she's at the 4 month level for shots......poor girl. She's a trooper, though. The doctor was impressed with both her fine and gross motor development, and language skills (she'll repeat any word you say). He said she must have come from a wonderful orphanage, and we agree!

Here she is in her "comfort" zone. Holding dolly, fingers in the mouth!

And here is Ryleigh with her new ride-on, a Scuttlebug by Razor. It is great, non kid/flashy, no sounds, just human power OH and it doesn't tip over at all! We can fold it flat, and can take it camping with us!

Oh shots are no fun! It's hard for everyone, especially you. By the way, LOVE the Scuttlebug. I definitely see on in Lizzie's future.

Ahhhhhh... I know.. it does suck when you have to do the yucky stuff! But you are the one they want the cuddles and snuggles from afterwards... right? : )
