Mark is taking her to a "Mommy (well in his case Daddy) and Me" thing where they go almost every day of the week. Music, Gymnastics, Cooking, Science, and Art are some of the fun things they can do each day. They are really enjoying their time together, and it's only $50 every three months for as many classes as you want to "drop" into.
Ryleigh is a total "girly girl" on one hand, wearing bracelets and necklaces and carrying her purse in the crook of her arm. And a crazy tom-boy "wanna be just like my big brother" on the other. If he climbs something, she does too. It's crazy keeping up with her. She likes to play in the same room as us, and prefers human contact instead of just playing in her room with her gobs of toys. She doesn't watch TV at all. She doesn't even glance it's way.
One thing she is obsessed with, is food. When I start to contemplate cooking dinner she starts saying "Eat" and signing eat over and over and over. Most times she ends up losing it.
One thing I find interesting is she hates cheese. One of the pictures of her is with a bowl of cut up cheese with Chocolate Syrup on it to get her to eat it. She ate it. Hmmm, interesting.
Ryleigh continues to have tremendous balance, and is very agile. She can walk up and down the stairs without holding on, one step at a time, like an adult. She can still balance on my hand, and I think if she wants to, she could make a pretty good "flier" for cheerleading. I was always a wannabee cheerleader, so maybe I can live vicariously through her, if she chooses.

Wow, that girl has quite the balance.
Oh and isn't everything better with chocolate on it ;0)
You are STRONG Stacey!
Oh my GOD - what a sweetheart. I'm in love. Ryleigh is so funny & endearing. 20 months? Can you believe it? Future Mary Lou Retton??
Thanks for the pics...XO
What a cutie!
The chocolate and cheese thing...whatever works!
Keep smilin!
CUTE! Emma and Ryleigh have a lot in common. It was said that Emma liked to watch TV, but she's really only good for about 1 minute. She doesn't really like to play with all the fancy toys, I guess she isn't used to them and doesn't find much use in them. And there is never a night I can attempt to make dinner without Emma right under my feet begging and whinning for food. Every night! I gotta say though Emma LOVES cheese, it's one of her first words. We bought the backpack at Sports Chalet, it's made by Kelty and the type is Kelty Kids. It's awesome. It has a separate detachable diaper bag. It's good up to 30 pounds (they have one up to 40lbs) which outta get us through till she's about 4 :)
Wow- she is getting big- and sooooo pretty! can you imagine her first time at a girlfriends for a playdate and the mom serves cheese and crackers and Ryleigh asks for chocolate on her cheese! that will be so funny!!!!!
Meg
I was reading Red Thread Stories the other day, and stumbled across yours! I said "Oooo, look! It's Ryleigh!" (I know it has her name on it... but it's YOUR Ryleigh!!!) Ahhhh, I remember when you were referred, and travelled. Has it been 7 months already!!!
Does she really have to eat cheese? I don't really like cheese... then again, I never tried it with chocolate!!!
Do you think the chocolate syrup trick will work on green vegetables? Neither of my girls will eat them! :)

Double Happiness!
Wait until you see what I found for Ryleigh...I found it at the Discovery Shop...something Terri and I had when we were little! (Maybe you had one too?) I will bring it on Sun (After I find a little something for the little man!)
I hope Ryleigh does become a cheerleader...I always wanted to be one too. But we were WAY more important...BAND GEEKS!
See you soon...~Kim~
