We went berry picking the day before yesterday. Ryleigh LOVED it!!! Austin LOVED it!!! We picked boysenberries and then strawberries. Something that is interesting is that the berries start to rot about the second you take them off the vines. Some of them were perfect when we left the patch and moldy within an hour...weird, huh? Makes you wonder about the fruit we purchase in the grocery store, huh?

Not so sure about picking these berries!

Austin's Boysenberry Harvest

I thought this would be a great picture, but the boy at the stand wasn't happy with us sitting Ryleigh in the wagon. He was worried she would break it. Uhh, we picked more berries then what she weighs....what's the difference?
We have made strawberry pie, strawberry jam, strawberry sorbet, and strawberry popsicles. With the boysenberries we made boysenberry jam, and a boysenberry buckle, and froze a bunch for later use. Austin has helped out with all of the baking, and cooking. He's a real chef!!

Now, on Monday I go back to work. I have mixed emotions about going back. I love my job, my friends at work, the feeling of "being an adult". BUT, it's been 4 1/2 months at home with the kids and family, and I LOVE that, too. I will miss being home with the kids, but I only work from 8am-12:30pm, so that's not too bad at all. I know once I go back, I'll get into the swing of things and love it again!

I love how you are so hands on with your kids!!
Have fun on Monday; I am sure that the mornings will just fly by and then you will be home enjoying your children again.
