03-01 March Madness!!

03-01-06

Today we had a lazy morning. We had to be in our rooms between 11am and 12 noon so that if there was a problem regarding Ryleigh’s Visa application we would be there to answer the questions. At about 11:45 we received the call from Kathy that everything was great, and Congratulations! We were very excited.

We ended up spending a lazy day and had “Red Couch” photo’s at 2:45. This is a tradition that each family and agency has their babies and families take a picture on the red velvet sofa’s in the hotel lobby. It was sheer chaos. Ryleigh dove head first off of the couch at one point and there was a lot of baby wrangling. We hope that some of the pictures turned out. Then it was moms and babies. Then dads and babies down by the waterfall. We were all sweating by the end of it!

About an hour later we met for our last group dinner at The Cow and Bridge Thai restaurant. The Cow and Bridge is by far the best restaurant on Shamian Island. We ordered a lot at our end of the table with some families not eating a thing. What was important though was that we were together one last time. Most of us that is!

After dinner we went to the game room and Mark shot some pool and some of us played video games. We finally got to bed around 10! Ryleigh cried during the night a little, which means that she was over tired and that we should have gotten her to bed earlier!

Tomorrow is our last day in China and it is a bittersweet one. We are not only leaving the country of our girl’s birth, but some wonderful friends that we have made on this trip!

Okay so you like to bring tears to my eyes. Well, you have done a great job of that while on your trip to China. I can't thank you guys enough for sharing your thoughts, pictures and most of all Ryleigh with us. I know you have heard it before, but I don't know if you realize how many lives this beautiful little girl has touched in such a short time.

Sending my love again
