Funky Monkey Quilt

For my little "year of the monkey" baby when she goes to a "big girl" bed.

This was a fairly easy quilt that got put onto the back burner by that school fundraiswer quilt back in February/March. It is called a Crazy 9 Patch and is very forgiving of mistakes. Not that I made any.

It's off to the quilters (an online quilting buddy is looking for a monkey pattern for the quilting for me).....

Now I'm onto a "Nickel Quilt" (all made from 5" squares of fabric) that will be my biggest project yet, a queen size 108" x 108" quilt made from 1930's reproductions. Something about those 1930's reproductions, they feed my soul....maybe I'm an old soul, but I just LOVE them.

Mary Mia, you might recognize this fabric....I used them for the "suprise" it's twins quilt when I needed to quickly make a second quilt for your delicious girlies.

You are sooo talented! I just bought some sock monkey fabric to make an apron for a craft challenge...

Oh Stacey it's just beautiful! She'll love it. And Rose and Marie give the fabric 4 thumbs up - they laugh the most adorable giggles when we look at the monkeys and "nanas" on theirs.

That quilt is adorable! I just started a pinwheel quilt...but it's little complicated. I'd love to do one that is forgiving! :)

P.S. Leda just passed on your post about the "Sanjaya" hairdo! Hysterical!

Stacy - just found you by blog-hopping! I am IN LOVE with this quilt! I have never quilted before but have a few books and can work a sewing machine, and haven't been motivated until I saw this quilt! Can you please tell me where I can get the pattern? Thanks!

Be well,
Heather

I love your quilt (I also have a monkey girl).

I am a bit late on the food advise, but my daughter (2.5) is the pickiest eater on earth. I have given up worrying about how much she eats. But back in March I made a chart to hang on the wall and it really did work (then we went to Vietnam to adopt a boy and it's gotten pushed aside while we all adjust back to US time). Anyway, Amelia LOVES putting her sticker up on the board and I used it this morning and got her to eat grapes and turkey sandwich so she could put them on the board (I give her credit for anything she at least tries).
