Baby Showers, Trains, and lots of miles in the Mothership...

Wow, another weekend and travelling. This weekend we were off to Sacramento for a baby shower for my friend, Mary and her hubs Karel who are expecting their little bouncing bundle in August. One funny thing was that we were using the GPS (even though I know quicker routes then it, and Mark says that the GPS does NOT lie). Mark was driving and check out what his top speed was???

The shower was on Saturday and we checked into a Residence Inn with early check in around 11am. The shower was very nice, and how much fun is it to see all those little tiny pink footy type outfits. Mark took the kids to the pool for a swim and I met up with them after the shower. Then at 6:30 we were off to Mary's house for a fantastic bar-b-que. I think that Ryleigh was having fun entertaining everyone as she fought with her brother, showed off her balance, and just sparkled in her cute little dress. Austin was very entertained by Karel stating "I've loved you forever!" He told Mary when we were leaving (as he tapped her belly) "I hope that baby girl comes out soon for you". It was very nice to see Mary and Karel and all of their family.

Back at the hotel we did a little bed jumping and snuggling, then it was off to bed.

This morning we got up, went for another little swim, baths, then off to the Sacramento Train Museum, then we drove home, also stopped at Casa de Fruita for a miniature train ride. I then won tickets from the train conductor for the family for knowing the difference between a carousel and a merry go round.

I think that so many hours in the car for the kids was tough this week, though. Ryleigh chattered NON-stop (and when I mean non-stop, I mean it) for at least 100 miles. She was cracking us up with what she was saying. Austin just watched Finding Nemo on DVD and tuned her out. Too bad she doesn't watch TV, at least a little bit!!!

So, what IS the differnece?? Don't worry, Grace woulnd't watch TV until she was about 3. But she still doesn't like it as much as "couch potato boy" )aka Cameron.

Great fun weekend! You guys sure have been on the go. Great picture on the merry go round or was it a carousel? I want to see the cute little dress though...

We always try to fit in a visit to Casa De Fruta when we are in the area. Next year will be there 100 year anniversary.

Looks like you had a great weekend too!

Sweet pictures & great blog! Funny posts about Austin tuning his sister out and thinking she's a pest. Our son, who also just finished 1st grade thinks the same about his sister, and yet, there are times when he is soooo sweet (when he thinks no one is looking).

Awesome picture of your kiddoes holding hands.
