Croup.....

Did your child ever have croup???? It's the swelling of their vocal chords and Ryleigh has it.

We went to the doctor today to see what was up, and she screamed bloody murder the whole time we were in the exam room, screaming "mamamamamamamamama" over and over again. On a good note, the Pediatrician said that she is well bonded to me. On a bad note, she gave her some medicine that has changed her personality, made her groggy, and me nervous to let her sleep. I hate that.....

She is 19 pounds and 15 ounces, or was it 14 ounces, I couldn't hear over the screaming.....dropping farther and farther from the US average. No worries, my girl is strong and healthy. She nearly leaped out of that weighing device that they have.

Here she is this morning looking pretty cool in her new Target outfit ($10 for the whole thing INCLUDING the shoes!).

Poor little girly. Croup can be especially bad in the nighttime. I hope you guys have a restful and peaceful night and she's feeling better tomorrow!

Love the outfit!

ohhh- croup! Monkey man had it and it was horrible.....the steroids changed his personality too- and not for the better! the good news is 2 days on that stuff and the croup symptoms do begin to go away.....as for the US charts...my kids (both bio) fell too- they were huge at birth and then continually dropped until they were no longer on the chart.....Jr. Spaceman began to catch up around age 4.5 and at 5.5 he is in the 75% for height and weight......I'm not sure they hold any value....kids grow at their own rate! she looks perfect to me!

Oh poor Ryleigh! Feel better sweetheart!

That outfit is awesome! Once we have our referral you know you're going to have to put me on speed dial for deals like that. Maybe you should do it right now so you don't forget, ok? :-)

All the boys had croup at least once or twice, I am surprised Austin hasn't blessed you with the seal bark cough! I used to sit in the bathroom with the hot shower running for the steam to help the vocal cords, worked also for a good facial! I hope you have dehumidifier, those help wonders...Good luck! Oh the joys of motherhood!

My daughter had chronic croup. The shower steam helped some, as did a humidifier. When it got really bad, we had to use a nebulizer. The good news is that they grow out of it.

I hope that as I am typing this that Ryleigh is already on the mend. Your little dynamo will be back to herself in no time.

She is such an adorable child!

My youngest had that. It terrified me to watch him not being able to breath. We could count him getting it with the very first sniffle. Steam helps - very cold air outside even helped. We made trips to the er quite a few times, they treated him with albutural (sp) and sent him home. He did out grow it - around age 4!!

Cooper is a croup kid! We ended up in Emergency once because he got so bad! I hate it. Cold air helps a ton! Take her outside bundled up. It calms everything down. Or hold her in front of an open freezer door.

Cute outfit though!

I'm hoping by now everyone is well and the croup is gone and not spreading. So cute.

I'd die without target!!
The croup is hard. Gracie has had it and the only thing that really helped, was having her outside in the cold air...at night! Fun!
I hope she is better now
