Skype?

Hey everyone, is there anyone out there that has used Skype? Especially from China? Also, if you did, did you use it with your camcorder as a webcam? I really, need some input on if it is worth trying or not.

For anyone that hasn't used it. You download it, (for free), from Skype on both computers that you want to be able to communicate with, have headphones for both, then call. You can even do video phone calls if you want. Real time, no delays. for FREE. You can also (if you sign up) get thirty minutes of Skype-Out for free which is calling from your computer to a regular phone.

I think we're going to try it when we're in China.....

Not us... :-)

We've used the free Yahoo instant messenger voice feature (with our headphones). Worked just like you were on the phone. We did it from U.S. to Australia with zero probs. We'll be using that in China because everyone already has Yahoo IM on their computers in our families and they won't have to load up any more software.

I've got headphones, so if you need me to test any of the different solutions with you before you go, just yell.

Hey Stacey-I use Skype everyday! Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to use it in China (yet) but I have never had a problem with it here in the states.

I use skype all of the time and know of someone who use a webcam with it to Brazil on a regular basis.

Hi Stacey! My hubby uses Skype and wants to use it in China - so you must let me know how it goes. He just uses a small webcam and his headphones. Will ask him, if he reckons the video cam will work.
